About the Initiative
Latinidad Curriculum in New York City Public Schools
Latinidad in Schools is a collaborative effort to support the development and implementation of a Latine Studies Curriculum for New York City public school students.
-
The initiative explores, celebrates, and expands the study of Latino histories, cultures, identities, and contributions, while addressing the reality that Latino communities remain underrepresented in many classroom resources and learning experiences.
-
This work is meant to serve students, educators, families, and school communities across New York City by helping create learning experiences that are more inclusive, culturally responsive, and reflective of the city itself.
Through curriculum development, research, community engagement, public-facing resources, and partnership, Latinidad in Schools is working to strengthen educational equity and representation.
-
As a multi-year effort, the initiative brings together institutional expertise and community voice to help ensure that Latino histories, identities, and lived experiences are meaningfully reflected in education.
